Union Minister Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh attends National Education Policy-2020 lecture programme

Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh on Wednesday attended a lecture session on the topic, “National Education Policy-2020: Role of Higher Educational Institutions” at the Dibrugarh Hanmanbax Surajmall Kanoi (DHSK) College as the key resource person.

DIBRUGARH: Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh on Wednesday attended a lecture session on the topic, “National Education Policy-2020: Role of Higher Educational Institutions” at the Dibrugarh Hanmanbax Surajmall Kanoi (DHSK) College as the key resource person.

The lecture held at the Lalchand Kanoi Auditorium was jointly organized by DHSK College, NLB City College Dibrugarh, Assam College Teachers’ Association Dibrugarh Zone, and Vidya Bharati Uchcha Siksha Sansthan. Principal of DHSK College Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia gave the welcome address.

The Union Minister in his address spoke about the role of Higher Educational Institutions for successful implementation of the National Education Policy-2020. He said the National Education Policy 2020 for higher education aims to transform the existing higher education system in India. The policy emphasizes on promoting interdisciplinary studies, introducing new subjects, and providing flexibility in courses and fresh opportunities for students. It aims to increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education, provide multiple entry and exit options, and allow students to choose courses according to their interests and aptitude.
