UPPL demands arrest of all accused in BTC job scam, lodges FIR

KOKRAJHAR: An FIR has been lodged by the opposition United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) against the ex-BTC executive members and officials of various departments for alleged involvement in job scam in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC). The UPPL has demanded immediate arrest of all the accused involved in the job scam

A criminal case was filed at Kokrajhar Police Station against BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary, all former Executive Members (EMs) of BTC, secretary of BTC and all heads of the departments of BTC for illegally appointing employees in the government services from 2005 to 2020 (till date).

The same criminal case vide KJR PS Case No. 292/2020 u/s 120B / 406/ 409/ 420 IPC was also registered against former EM of Transport, BTC, Jagadish Sarkar, ACS officer Anil Ch. Deori, Secretary/ Joint Secretary/ Director/ CHD of all the 40 departments of BTC for giving illegal appointments on both fixed pay and regular pay basis from the year 2005 to 2020 till date.

The FIR has been lodged by UPPL CWC Member and spokesperson Rajkumar Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech and witnessed by Kamal Azad, central IT secretary of UPPL, and two other members of UPPL. Rajkumar Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech and Kamal Azad demanded immediate arrest of all the accused who were involved in the job scam in Bodoland Territorial Council.

Meanwhile, Additional SP of Kokrajhar, Mukut Rabha has been given the charge of Investigation Officer in the job scam as per the direction of IGP, BTC.

Rajkumar Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech said a total eight candidates had been illegally appointed in the Transport department in the post of Assistant Enforcement Inspector without any official recommendation and approval by the competent Central Selection Board(CSB) BTC and without any circular, interview or exams. He also said that the Joint Commissioner of Transport, BTC, Anil Chandra Deori had illegally directed the appointment of the eight candidates in the post of Assistant Enforcement Inspector under the direction of the secretary for Transport Department and the then executive member in-charge of Transport Department, Jagadish Sarkar vide order No JCT/BTC/36/2020/1191(memo No JCT/BTC/36/2020/1192-A) dated March 5, 2020. Similarly 21 enforcement checkers have been illegally appointed in the Transport department of BTC vide memo No-JCT/BTC/36/2020/1190-A dated March 5, 2020 without conducting any interview or publishing any circular.

UPPL spokesperson Rajkumar Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech also alleged that on both fixed pay and regular pay basis, several candidates had illegally been appointed without conducting any interview. Such anomalies have happened since the year 2005.
