DHUBRI: On the eve of Eid, former ward commissioner of ward no 9, Uttam Prasad distributed 255 sarees among the poor women of the ward. Former ward commissioner Uttam Prasad said that he had been distributing sarees and garments during Durga Puja and Eid for the past many years, but this time the situation was totally different due to COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. "People are facing a tough time staying at home under strict advisories of do's and dont's. Due to all these restrictions, the fervour of Eid celebration has been lost. This time Eid will be celebrated at home with only family members," he said.
