GUWAHATI: The prices of petrol in Guwahati have been turning more unpredictable, as prices of crude oil have been showing a firm pattern. It is necessary to check the current petrol price in Guwahati, which is Rs 96.34, as of today (July 9). The hike of prices of petrol and diesel in Assam is making commuters feel hapless. The latest fuel rate is not so appropriate for the people.
As Assam has been feeling the brunt of drastic rise in petrol prices, after the petrol price in the state crossing up to Rs 100 per litre in a few districts, Guwahati is amongst the areas in the state to have been awful hit by the rising fuel hike. The city had seen the price of petrol cross the century blemish on Wednesday. In order to cope up with the current fuel price hike, the residents of Assam are being forced to fall back on the drastic cost cutting techniques, including leaving their privately owned vehicles.
Speaking to The Sentinel a resident from Guwahati said, "It's difficult for us to even now take out our bike because of the rise in the price of fuel oil. The govt in the name of the international crude benchmark is pushing the fuel price."
"I don't understand is it only India following the international crude benchmark? Countries like Sri Lanka or Bangladesh price of fuel oil is much cheaper compared to India," he added.
Keep in mind that the new price of petrol and diesel is overhauled day by day, so you can lose a lot if you are going on a significant distance. The rupee has additionally moved lower against the dollar, which has made petrol rate hike in Guwahati more expensive than before. It is hoped that the government can diminish excise duties, in order to enable rates to get less expensive in the coming days, as the news of the latest auto fuel retail rate is creating chaos among the people.
