Woman trampled to death by wild jumbo in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: As a result of man-elephant conflict, a woman died in Lakhimpur district on Wednesday night. The woman was identified as Kesari Maya Gurung (48), wife of Teg Bahadur Gurung, resident of Rajgarh Bengali village under Kakoi Rajgarh area. As per report, the woman, along with two others, was returning home after watching television in the house of a neighbour at around 10 pm. They encountered a wild elephant just near Kesari Maya's house. The wild elephant trampled Kesari Maya to death while the two other women had a narrow escape.
