Workshop titled 'Sankalp' on skill development held at District Library Auditorium Hall

A district-level workshop titled ‘Sankalp’ was held on Wednesday at District Library Auditorium Hall to promote livelihood in the Assam Skill development campaign under the Department of Skills, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Government of Assam.

GOLAGHAT: A district-level workshop titled 'Sankalp' was held on Wednesday at District Library Auditorium Hall to promote livelihood in the Assam Skill development campaign under the Department of Skills, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Government of Assam.

District Deputy Commissioner Mrigesh Narayan Baruah along with several persons and head officials of various departments explained in details about various aspects and government schemes related to skill development in the workshop.

The DC further said that skill development had become an important issue in this world of competition. He said that the development of skills actually ensures the collective development and economic growth of a society. He urged students to make efforts to develop skills as per their interest and use the internet and social media in a positive way. He also urged the students to take a one-year skill development course on various subjects at the North East Skill Centre in Guwahati. Participating in the event, District Development Commissioner Arpa Baglary called for giving up the job-oriented mindset and focusing on skill development.

District Industries and Trade Centre Chief Director Umesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Workers, Tilottama Deori, District Handloom and Textiles Department Assistant Manager Putul Sharma, District Information and Public Relations Officer Pompy Devi and other personalities were present.
