Youth20 Summit held at Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar

The CIT-K hosted the Youth20 (Y20 Summit in collaboration with Think India Assam. The Y20 summit aimed to bring young people together to connect, share ideas and experiences, and deliberate on finding innovative solutions to pressing global concerns.

KOKRAJHAR: The Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar (CIT-K) hosted the Youth20 (Y20) Summit in collaboration with Think India Assam. The Y20 summit aimed to bring young people together to connect, share ideas and experiences, and deliberate on finding innovative solutions to pressing global concerns.

Five core themes were identified for the Y20 Summit 2023, out of which CIT Kokrajhar catered its first theme – ‘Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation, & 21st Century Skills’ during the Y20 summit.

Professor Hemanta Kumar Kalita, the Director of CIT Kokrajhar, said that it was a matter of pride for all of us that India assumed the G20 Presidency under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his welcome speech, he highlighted the importance of the Y20 summit and how youths can take part in bringing change for a better future.

The Y20 summit provided a thought-provoking discussion on the challenges and opportunities for the future of work, in which an outstanding group of speakers shared their insights and expertise on the theme of the summit.

The speakers were Partha Pratim Dasgupta, Kalyanjit Hatibaruah, Dr Jayanta Biswa Sarma and Ankit Kumar. Partha Pratim Dasgupta recently gave a presentation on the topic of Industry 4.0, covering its technological advancements, the role of cyber-physical systems, and its potential impact on the manufacturing sector. Dasgupta highlighted the importance of digitalization and automation in driving productivity, efficiency, and flexibility in the manufacturing process.

Kalyanjit Hatibaruah, a blockchain expert, gave a presentation on the topic of blockchain technology, covering its basics, uses, and how it is changing the way businesses operate. Hatibaruah highlighted the unique features of blockchain, such as its decentralized nature and immutable record-keeping, and how these features make it ideal for applications that require security, transparency, and accountability.

Dr Jayanta Biswa Sarma shared his insights on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare and discussed the current developments and prospects of AI in the industry. Dr Sarma highlighted how AI is transforming patient care and reducing healthcare costs by leveraging big data, machine learning, and advanced analytics.

Ankit Kumar discussed the intersection of startups and artificial intelligence (AI) from a Northeast perspective. Kumar highlighted the unique challenges and opportunities faced by startups in the Northeast region and how AI can help address these challenges.

Dr Pranav Kumar Singh, the convenor of the Y20 summit at CITK, stated during a media interaction that the Y20 summit held at CITK aligns with the vision of the Prime Minister to provide a platform for our youth to discuss and suggest solutions to build a better tomorrow.
