DIBRUGARH: In a health outreach initiative, the Zaloni Ladies Club (ZLC), Duliajan, under its flagship project ‘Nightingale,’ in collaboration with OIL Hospital and Tengakhat BPHC, organized a comprehensive medical camp at Zaloni Tea Estate. The event was graced by the President of ZLC, Geety Rekha Phukan, Secretary Mouchumi Rajkumari, project convenors Dr Leena Das and Dr Pallavi Bhattacharya, along with other esteemed ZLC members. A total of 228 patients availed free medical counselling and treatment during the camp. All individuals above the age of 30 were screened for blood pressure, haemoglobin (Hb%), and random blood sugar (RBS) levels. Additionally, 22 women over 30 years underwent cervical cancer screening, reinforcing the focus on women’s health awareness. The event witnessed participation from the team led by Dr NK Das, CGM (Medical Services), OIL, comprising doctors from OIL Hospital, Dr Hiranmay Bhattacharjya, Dr Angshuman Chaudhury, Dr Punyeswar Keot, Dr Jahnavi Konwar, Dr Nilotpal Saikia, Dr Balaji KB, as well as paramedical staff, pharmacists, lab technicians, and GNM nurses, all of whom generously volunteered their services. The venue was facilitated by Dr Rashmi Thakuria, SDMO of Tengakhat BPHC. Vital support from ASHA workers and government staff in managing logistics and spreading awareness contributed immensely to the success of the camp.
