Manipur to launch 'Flying Doctors' soon

Guwahati: The Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh has announced that all the necessary procedures for the launch of Flying Doctors project in the state has already been completed. The Chief Minister announced the completion of the project while distributing around 1400 cards/benefits of different flagship programmes.

The state Governor Dr. Najma Heptulla had been initiating the flying doctor project since two years to provide medical aid to the people of the rural and hilly areas. "The state government has been constantly putting an effort to bring a developmental change in the state and that the understanding of the basic requirements of the people is the priority of the government and that they are trying to fulfill the requirements within a stipulated time," the Chief Minister said.

The minister further said that the government is not only giving effort to bring the service of medical aid to the people's doorstep but also understanding their woes through 'Go To Village' mission and that almost all the census village of the state has been covered in the first phase. "A large number of people has also been provided Chief Ministerji Hakselgi Tengbang and Ayushman Bharat cards to ensure free treatment in empanelled government and private hospitals," the Chief Minister informed.

Manipur Assembly Speaker Y Khemchand while delivering his speech said that positive changes would be visible if the social environment remains clean and urge the public to extend support in bringing about a new change in the state.

Dr. Najma Heptulla earlier expressed regret over reports of patients complaining about poor service of doctors, non-availability of drugs and malfunctioning of life-saving equipments for which the patients have been referred to private hospitals and clinics for advanced treatment which is unfortunate. She also expressed disappointment against the photographs uploaded in the social media of the injured people of not getting proper treatment in the government hospital. And to avoid such distress in the state, the government is all set to launch the project of 'flying doctors' which will bring happiness in the lives of the people as it will provide medical service in the doorstep of the people.
