NIT Manipur To Hold 11th Convocation Celebrating Academic and Research Milestones

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur is all set to host its 11th convocation tomorrow, December 27, at the institute’s administrative building.

IMPHAL: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur is all set to host its 11th convocation tomorrow, December 27, at the institute’s administrative building. A total of 244 students will receive degrees, including 23 PhDs, 28 MTechs, 28 MScs, and 155 BTechs.

During a press conference, Director DVLN Somayajulu announced that five outstanding BTech students will be awarded gold medals for their exceptional academic performances.

Koukuntla Komal Reddy, from the Computer Science and Engineering program, will receive the prestigious Chairman’s Gold Medal. The other gold medalists include Mutum Rajesh Meitei, Challa Dhanush Sri Karthik Reddy, Ural Oinam, and Meenika Thoudam.

Despite the challenges the state has faced since May 2023, NIT Manipur has achieved significant milestones. It is ranked 129th among India’s top engineering institutions in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2024. The institute has produced approximately 294 scientific publications and secured Rs. 7.66 crore in funding for major research projects during the 2023-2024 period.

Graduates from NIT Manipur have been placed in leading companies, including HP, Power Grid Corporation, and L&T Construction. The institute has also expanded its contributions to interdisciplinary research in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and environmental sciences.

The Civil Engineering Department recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Delta Water Institute and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China, to collaborate on hydrometeorological research. These accomplishments underscore the institute’s commitment to academic and research excellence as it prepares to honor its graduates.
