BSF, CRPF organize ‘Swachhta’ drives in Shillong

SHILLONG: The BSF started a fortnight Swachhta Pakhwada Action Plan from December 1 with the objective to bring a two week-intense focus on the issues and practice of “Swachhta”. A pledge taking ceremony was held at BSF HQ Umpling, Shillong and at all sector HQ and units under Meghalaya Frontier. During the campaign, the BSF plans an intensive cleaning and awareness drive at campuses, public places as well as villages along the international border by way of educating local population specially youths to accomplish the vision of Swachh Bharat. Meanwhile, the 67 Bn CRPF based at Polo Ground, Shillong conducted Swachhata Abhiyan at Polo and Buddha Temple Road area Tuesday. Sunit Varshney, Commandant (CCD), Ravi Ranjan (Second-in-Command) along with TP Singh (Deputy Commandant) and Dr Utpal Gogoi (SMO), subordinate officers and other ranks of 67 Bn CRPF and North Eastern Sector HQ participated in this campaign.
