SHILLONG: As lockdown continues and the State government has extended curfew till May 3, many stray dogs in the city are finding it difficult to find a meal to survive. In this connection, many people in their respective localities have come forward to provide food for these stray dogs. One such resident in Laban said, “Well, even dogs needs to eat to survive in these trying times.” She pointed out that as the markets are closed especially meat shops and restaurants, these dogs are being presently deprived of food from such sources. She added that if these dogs are not given food they will starve and probably die which might lead to a spread of other diseases, hence everyone should pitch in to provide food for such stray dogs.
