SHILLONG: The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has formally announced its expansion into the Northeast with the establishment of a new campus in New Shillong Township. During a high-level interactive meeting with senior state officials, including Dr Joram Beda, Commissioner and Secretary, Planning, Government of Meghalaya, IICA Director General and CEO Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh presented the institute’s mandate and highlighted its core domains—capacity building, advocacy, training, research, and advisory.
Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh informed that five acres of land were officially handed over to IICA on June 2 in the presence of Donald Phillips Wahlang, Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, and Deepti Gaur Mukerjee, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He described the development as historic and stated, “This is our first baby outside Delhi—a symbol of decentralization and empowerment.” He emphasized that the Shillong campus will support entrepreneurship, capacity building, and good governance in alignment with national goals such as Ease of Doing Business, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Vikshit Bharat @ 2047.
