Shillong: Meghalaya police is on the edge of a major recruitment milestone, as Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong has confirmed that the results of the written examination for police job recruitment are expected to be declared very soon. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Tynsong said, “Hopefully, very soon we will be able to declare the results of those exams which were already held.” He informed that the recruitment process has been completed and the compilation of results is currently underway. The examination witnessed a massive turnout, with nearly 36,000 to 37,000 candidates appearing across the state. Amid concerns over alleged use of unfair means during the exam, Tynsong said an internal inquiry was promptly initiated. “Yes, at first, some complaints came to my table as well. I asked DGP to investigate the matter to see if any unfair practices were being used in the testing facilities. After receiving all the information, we discovered that no such practices were being used in any of the testing facilities in the state,” he added.
