Meghalaya sets up 419 rooms in 15 Corona quarantine centres

SHILLONG: Meghalaya has 419 rooms spread over 15 Corona quarantine centres in Shillong city alone out of which 91 has been utilized.

The quarantines centres are located in 15 centres which includes 13 hotels.

Sixty-two rooms at the IIM Shillong have been utilized so far and another 29 rooms at Earl Holiday Home have been used.

It may also be mentioned that dedicated centers for COVID-19 positive patients has been set up at MATI, Mawdiangdiang, while as a pro-active approach to tackle any surge situations, provisions have been made to establish other quarantine/ Corona Care Centers at IIM Shillong, Nongthymmai, New Campus with 250 rooms which will be ready by April end.

Meanwhile, 382 tests were conducted post the first positive case in Meghalaya, out of which there are 9 total positive cases, 246 samples were negative and the results of 127 samples are awaited.

The State also has 24,084 personal protective equipment, 3,24,050 – 3 Ply Masks and 15,070 N95 masks.
