Reuben creates waves in ‘NE Body Can Sing’ finale

SHILLONG: Meghalaya’s Reuben Mewanshuwa Hadem won the “NE Body Can Sing” Season IV finale which was held at U Soso Tham here on Saturday on the occasion of Prasar Bharati Foundation Day. Supriya Laimayum of Manipur took the second spot.

“NE Body Can Sing” is a musical reality show to explore the young talents of the Northeast and provide a platform for budding artists from different parts of the region.

The grand finale of Season-IV of “NE Body Can Sing” pitted, seven contestants. Mudang Buggi (Arunachal Pradesh), Anannya Choudhury (Assam), Supriya Laimayum (Manipur), Reuben Mewanshuwa Hadem (Meghalaya), RK Lalduhkima (Mizoram), Sentisangla Oungth (Nagaland) and Joseph Sada (Sikkim) took part in the fourth season.

Winner Reuben was awarded in the form of a contract worth Rs 1 lakh with a certificate and a memento while the runners-up Supriya Laimayum took home a contract worth Rs 50,000 with certificate and memento. Other participating contestants were awarded contracts of Rs 6,700.

Shashi Kant ADG (E), North East Zone AIR and DDK who graced the occasion as the chief guest said that such competition provides a platform for budding and young artists of the region.
