State Ministers Hamletson Dohling Seek Central Funds, Meet Hardeep Puri

NEW DELHI: Meghalaya Urban Affairs Minister Hamletson Dohling on Saturday has appealed to Union Minister for Urban and Housing Hardeep Singh Puri to release all pending funds to implement all urban development projects in Meghalaya.

“I have requested the Union Minister to release all funds so that we can implement projects,” said Hamletson Dohling after the meeting with the Minister.

Hamletson Dohling said that his department will soon appoint the PMC for smart city project in Shillong. The capital city of Meghalaya has been selected as a smart city by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. “The minister told us that he will take all steps so that funds are released on time,” said Dohling quoting the Minister. Minister for Arts and Culture, Health and Family Welfare, Information and Public Relations Alexander Laloo Hek was also present in the meeting.

“I have requested the Hon’ble minister to release a plot of land for setting up a church…so that people to people relations become strengthen in the state,” said Hek. Dohling and Hek came to Delhi with their other cabinet colleagues along with the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to raise their voice against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. The delegation also met planning minister Inderjit Singh in the morning.
