SHILLONG: Debjanee Bhattacharjee of St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong who topped this year’s Class XII Science stream examination said that she started preparing for her success one year before the boards examination.

“Therefore I could revise well before the commencement of the boards’ examination,” Debjanee said.

Although she expected to be a rank holder she never thought she would top the board examination.

Her message to her fellow students is, “Take less tension and believe in oneself.”

Although kids her age are fond of mobile phones, she never kept one and also kept her distance from social media.

Meanwhile, Bhanudaya Upadhaya of BBS College, Shillong who secured 448 marks topping the Commerce stream said that his mantra for success was his faith in the teachers who taught him “how, what and when to study.”

While preparing for his Class XII Board examination he studied for six hours a day even as he said that he wants to complete his B.Com and thereafter pursue a career in Chartered Accountancy.

On social media, Bhanudaya stated that there are many positive things about social media even as he added that study hours should be maintained.

“Six months before the boards exam I stayed away from social media so that I can focus on my goal,” he said.

His motto in life is, “We should not be defeated by failures.”
