AIZAWL: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), seized 200 packets of foreign origin cigarettes in general area Old Hrikawnin Mizoram on Tuesday. The operation was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles and Customs department, Zokhawathar based on specific information, stated a press release.
Approximate cost of the seized foreign origin cigarettes is Rs.6,96,000. The recovered items were handed over to Customs Station, Zokhawathar, District Champhai for further legal proceedings.
