MIZORAM: Lunglei Battalion of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) conducted a lecture on career guidance and an awareness campaign was organized at Convention Centre, Lunglei on Tuesday. A total of 120 students of various schools attended the lecture.
The lecture was given by Colonel Bejoy Raveendran, Comdt, Lunglei Battalion. MLA Dr K Pachhunga and Comdt of Lunglei Battalion were the chief guests for the event. The lecture touched upon importance of career in a person’s life, which career to choose, and the impact it will have on individual’s life. Various streams to be chosen and the career op-portunities associated with each stream after 12th were also briefed. Students were made aware that the minimum qualification for obtaining a career these days is Post Graduation. Students were also briefed on the various opportunities available in se-curity forces including Army, Assam Rifles and oth-erparamilitary force. Comdt of Lunglei Battalion during his address briefly touched upon the various assistance provided by Assam Rifles to deserving students. He added that drugs abuse is currently plaguing Mizoram and it is having a drastic impact on the career prospects of students. He encouraged students to stay away from drugs and focus on their education and career. Dr. K Pachhunga, MLA and locals of Lunglei expressed their gratitude for the ef-forts being taken by Assam Rifles in building the fu-ture of their children, stated a press release.
