MBBS Student From Rajasthan Dies in Mizoram

AIZAWL: On Wednesday night, a final-year MBBS student of Zoram Medical College (ZMC) at Falkawn near Aizawl passed away.

It has been suspected that the deceased suffered a heart attack. Anita Kanwar, the student, belonged to a small village in the Jodhpur area of Rajasthan.

She would have finished her final exam on Thursday, according to ZMC faculty member Saia Chenkual. He stated that Anita's parents had arrived in Aizawl.

"We are unable to ascertain the reason for her demise without doing the autopsy. However, she appears to have had a major heart attack or pulmonary embolism (cardiac arrest)", he stated. 

It has not yet been decided whether Anita's cremation would take place here or if the remains will be returned to her village," Chenkual added. According to a classmate, Anita had the desire to become the first female doctor in her community.

On 6 March, Monday, an episode came to light where a MBBS student committed suicide in his hostel room. Kamal Brahma was a medical student at Diphu Medical College Hospital (DMCH), which is located in Diphu in the Karbi Anglong district.

According to a source, the first-year MBBS student allegedly took the drastic move to end his life after becoming anxious over his subpar performance on the semester exams.

According to reports, the first-semester exam results were announced four days ago. The deceased's body was transported to DMCH for a postmortem. According to information, Kamal lives in the East Karbi Anglong district in Bokajan.

In a secluded Mizoram community, a large fire claimed the life of a 107-year-old Buddhist monk and completely destroyed five homes.

Yesterday, late at night, a fire started at a Buddhist temple in Longpuighat hamlet, Lawngtlai district. According to district police, an inquiry is being conducted, and the cause of the incident has not yet been determined. Nonetheless, they stated that the incident was most likely the result of an electric short circuit.

Locals claim that the dead monk's house is where the fire originally appeared to start. According to district administration officials, the incident resulted in the loss of property estimated to be worth three crore rupees.
