Mizoram Football Association Unveils Golden Jubilee Logo

The association which was formed in the year 1973 enters its 50th year in 2023.

AIZAWL: The apex football body of the state of Mizoram, the Mizoram Football Association has announced its entry into the 50th year and mentioned that the 50-year anniversary will be organised with year-long events.

The story of the Mizoram Football Association is one of the major successes of football in the country. Although the state of Mizoram has a relatively small population, it has become one of the powerhouses for the game in the country in the past few years due to the efforts of the association.

The association which was formed in the year 1973, Mizoram Football Association enters its 50th year in 2023. The Mizoram Football Association also unveiled the Golden Jubilee Logo to mark the beginning of the year-long celebration. The Mizoram Football Association’s Golden Jubilee logo was unveiled at AR Lammual on Thursday by the football legend Johan Neeskens from the Netherlands.

Speaking on the occasion, Johan Neeskens commended the Mizoram Football Association for completing 50 years and wished further success for the next 50 years as he released the celebratory logo. According to the organising committee, the Golden Jubilee Ceremony will take place on May 25 at Vanapa Hall. Players who have represented Mizoram, those who have represented the national teams and former Mizoram Football Association executives will attend the occasion.

The football association is known to leverage the popularity of the sport in the state towards the launching of the Mizoram Premier League. This league later became a catalyst towards the scouting of new players as well as talent development for the national-level tournaments. Thereafter the state team bagged the Santosh Trophy and the Aizawal Football Club won the I-League.

Multiple players from Mizoram have made their way to the Indian Super League, the I-League and the Indian Women’s League over the past few years.
