Nagaland: Kohima to Host State-Level Pickleball Tournament from Aug 16

Event features ₹50,000 prize pool, set at India’s highest pickleball court

Kohima: The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA), in collaboration with Pickopadel, will host the Kohima Open Tournament 2025 on August 16–17 at the Akim Sports Centre, Kohima. The state-level competition, organised with the Indian Pickleball Association, will feature Men’s Doubles (Open) and Mixed Doubles (Open) categories.

With a prize pool of ₹50,000, the event marks another milestone in promoting pickleball in Nagaland. The Akim Sports Centre, located 4,800 feet above sea level, is recognised as India’s highest pickleball court, offering a unique venue for the matches.

The NPA said the tournament will bring together top talent from across the state, giving players a platform to showcase their skills in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports. Registrations are open until 9:00 PM on August 14, 2025, through the QR code on the official poster or the provided online link.

Organisers have invited media and stakeholders to be part of the event and aim to make the Kohima Open a celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and community spirit.
