NF Railways To Run Special Trains During Maha Kumbh To Ease Passenger Rush

The NF Railway has decided to run two pairs of special trains from Kamakhya and Naharlagun stations to Tundla station to handle the expected high volume of pilgrims during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.

GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to run two pairs of special trains from Kamakhya and Naharlagun stations to Tundla station in order to handle the expected high volume of pilgrims during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.

The special trains are expected to operate four trips each in both directions, according to a media release from NF Railways CPRO Kapinjan Kishore Sharma. The change will make it easier for pilgrims and tourists who wish to attend the next Maha Kumbh to travel comfortably this winter.


On January 9 and 25, as well as February 8 and 22, special train number 05611 (Kamakhya-Tundla) will leave Kamakhya at 5:30 am and arrive in Tundla at 7:20 pm.


Train number 05612 (Tundla-Kamakhya) will leave Tundla at 3 a.m. on January 11 and 27 and on February 10 and 24, arriving at Kamakhya Station at 5:45 p.m. on the following day.

The special train will pass by the railway stations of Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Bhagalpur, Patna, Prayagraj, and others on its two-way trip.

Likewise, on January 9 and 25 and February 8 and 22, Special Train No. 05811 (Naharlagun-Tundla) will leave Naharlagun at 2:30 pm and arrive in Tundla at 6:30 am on the third day of the trip.

Train number 05812 (Tundla-Naharlagun) will leave Tundla at 11:20 am on January 11 and 27 and February 10 and 24. On the third day of the trip, it will arrive at Kamakhya Station at 5:50 am.


The special train will pass via several railway stations on its two-way trip, including Rangapara North, Rangiya, New Bongaigaon, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Barauni, Danapur, and Prayagraj.


For passenger convenience, the special trains will have 22 and 21 coaches, respectively, with AC, sleeper, and general sitting coaches.
