GANGTOK: The northeastern state of Sikkim is gearing up to launch its first bungee jumping experience at the Singshore Bridge in the 03-Maneybung-Dentam Constituency. This is an important development for the state's adventure tourism sector.
Recently, MLA Sudesh Kumar Limboo, who is also an advisor to the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, visited the site with a team of experts from Nepal. They confirmed that the location is safe and perfect for the adventure sport.
The inaugural trial jump is scheduled during the National-Level Homestay Conference in Uttarey, which will be held from March 22 to 24, 2025, offering visitors a glimpse of the thrilling attraction. With this new addition, Sikkim will become the second state in Northeast India to offer bungee jumping. The goal is to attract adventure lovers from all over the country.
Along with the bungee jumping facility, a glass skywalk is under construction at Shingshore Bridge, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. The initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, is part of the government's effort to promote eco-tourism and sustainable adventure sports in the region.
The new adventure attraction is expected to boost tourism and benefit local businesses, positioning Sikkim as an emerging destination for adventure tourism while prioritizing safety and responsible development.
