Mizo Convention and Tripura's Tourism Minister Discuss Plans to Boost Jampui Hill Tourism

JAMPUI HILL: Leaders of the Mizo Convention discussed with Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury to explore transformative proposals for enhancing tourism in the region, in a crucial meeting at Eden Lodge, Jampui Hill, Tripura.

UK Chakma, IAS, and the Secretary of the Tourism Department also attended the meeting, focusing on strategic initiatives to unlock the tourism potential of Jampui Hill.

The construction of a skywalk, the development of trekking routes, the creation of an eco-park, the promotion of Thaidawr Tlâng (Betlingchhip) as a nature reserve, and the redevelopment of the Tlaksih paragliding site were the highlights of the proposals.

Minister Chowdhury applauded the community-driven approach, underlining the importance of eco-friendly and sustainable tourism. “These initiatives have the potential to transform Jampui Hill into a premier tourist destination while empowering local communities,” he stated. He invited the delegation to visit his office post-Christmas for further deliberations on executing these projects.

Reflecting on the recent success of the Tourism Promo Fest at Vanghmun Playground, Jampui Hill, the Mizo leaders expressed optimism about the proposals. Once implemented, these projects aim to position Jampui Hill as a beacon of sustainable tourism, attracting nature enthusiasts and adventurers while preserving its ecological and cultural essence.
