Political Parties Make the Final Attempts to Woo Voters Ahead of Tripura Elections

Leaders and workers of all the parties remained on their toes on Monday when the polling campaigns came to an end.

AGARTALA: Himanta Biswa Sharma, the chief minister of Assam took Part in multiple election rallies in the state of Tripura for the third day, and the second in a row on the last day of campaigning. Leaders and workers of all the parties remained on their toes on Monday when the polling campaigns came to an end.

Himanta Biswa Sarma is also the Convenor of the North East Democratic Alliance or NEDA, an organisation aimed at the development of all the states of the Northeastern part of the country. He took to campaigning for several candidates as part of the party’s Vijay Sankalp Jansabhas organised across the state. Some of the candidates he campaigned were Sushri Shantana Chakma for Pencharthal, Manoj Kanti Deb for Kamalpur and Bhagban Das for Pabiacherra.

While the former chief minister of the state for the BJP government, Dr Manik Saha took to door to door campaigning with select supporters in his constituency, TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma also took to campaigning in several of constituencies for the members of his party. He kept his promise by not appearing for polls as a candidate.

The Indian National Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) had also floored the pedal on their election campaigning in the state of Tripura.

The Congress spokesperson, Pawan Khare took a dig at the claims of an easy win in the state.“Saw the video of empty seats in Modi ji's rally yesterday, show the video to Amit Shah. The people of Tripura are fed up with the BJP.” he said.

The Union Home Minister had claimed that “BJP will cross the majority mark before 12 pm on the counting day” in an interview.

The chief of TIPRA Motha had also mentioned that his rallies had more takers than those of the Prime Minister and mentioned it as a hint for the upcoming change in the state.
