Tripura to Host Union Minister Pralhad Joshi for Two-Day Visit

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi is set to embark on a two-day official visit to Tripura to strengthen the implementation of central schemes and promote development initiatives in the state.

Agartala: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, who oversees the portfolios of Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, and New & Renewable Energy, is set to embark on a two-day official visit to Tripura starting December 28. This visit aims to strengthen the implementation of central schemes and promote development initiatives in the state.

Pralhad Joshi will touch down in Agartala on Saturday afternoon. His first stop will be the Food Corporation of India (FCI) office located in Nandannagar, where he will assess operations and evaluate storage and supply mechanisms. Following this, the minister is scheduled to inspect state government-operated food godowns, aiming to understand the region’s food distribution infrastructure.

Later in the day, he will chair a high-level meeting involving officials from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC). This session will focus on streamlining storage facilities and enhancing food supply chain efficiency in Tripura.

The evening will see the minister participating in a crucial review meeting at the Secretariat in Agartala. The agenda includes assessing the progress of central schemes related to food security, development in aspirational districts, and renewable energy projects. Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha and other senior state officials will also be present to provide insights and discuss challenges.

On December 29, the minister’s itinerary shifts to Charilam, where he will inspect a key initiative under the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA). The programme aims to integrate renewable energy solutions into local communities. Joshi will interact with residents to gather firsthand feedback on the impact of these initiatives and explore opportunities for further development.

Later in the day, Joshi will visit the revered Mata Tripureshwari temple in Udaipur, located in the Sepahijala district. Known as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, the temple holds immense cultural and spiritual significance for the region.

The visit will conclude with the minister’s return to Bengaluru on the same day.
