AGARTALA: In a gruesome incident, one individual was arrested in connection with stabbing three of his friends in Tripura's Gomati district, according to police. One of the injured's condition is critical, and has been admitted to GBP Hospital in Agartala.
A youth identified as Samrat Dey has been accused of stabbing three of his friends, Rahul Das, Ujwal Saha, and Sekhar Das, after a small altercation in Udaipur Central Road, according to a police official from the RK Pur police station.
After suffering severe injuries, particularly to his eyes and body, Rahul Das was first brought to Gomati District Hospital. Later, the GB Trauma Centre was consulted because of the severity of his condition.
At Gomati District Hospital, Ujwal Saha and Sekhar Das, the other two victims, are undergoing primary care.
Samrat Dey, who is allegedly the owner of a water supply firm, has a complaint lodged against him by Rahul Das's family at the RK Pur police station.
After the incident, Samrat Dey was taken from his home by police on Thursday and brought before the District and Sessions Court, where they asked for a three-day police remand so they could conduct additional investigation.
A similar tragic incident occurred in Birubari last month, claiming the life of Shankar Sarkar. According to reports, Biswajit Sarkar, allegedly intoxicated, got into a heated argument with his elder brother, Shankar. The confrontation quickly escalated, and Biswajit fatally stabbed Shankar in the neck and abdomen with a knife.
Shankar was immediately taken to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for treatment, but despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
