AGARTALA: A specialized counselling seminar was launched in Agartala on Sunday to guide trained nurses interested in learning Japanese and securing employment in Japan. The program, organized by the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) in collaboration with Japan-based NAVIS-HR, aims to provide lucrative overseas job opportunities while boosting India's foreign exchange earnings.

The seminar was inaugurated by Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, chairman of the Advisory and Reforms Committee of TTAADC, who lit a ceremonial lamp to mark the occasion. Takako Oshibuchi, CEO of NAVIS-HR, along with other dignitaries, was also present at the event.

A total of 24 qualified nurses have enrolled in the program, which costs around Rs 3.5 lakh per candidate. To make the opportunity more accessible, TTAADC is providing a Rs 60,000 subsidy, while the remaining amount will be deducted from their salaries once they secure employment in Japan.

Successful candidates will be placed in high-paying nursing jobs, where they can earn an average monthly salary exceeding Rs 1 lakh, significantly improving their financial stability.

"Japan has an aging population, and they need nurses and caregivers. They don't have enough people to look after them. Now, if the nurses from Tripura learn the Japanese language, they will be placed in different parts of Japan, where they can earn up to Rs 2-2.5 lakh a month," Debbarma stated.
