Sri Sri Madhabdeva (1489–1596), born at Letekupukhuri in Lakhimpur District of Assam, was an author and a saint-poet. He was the writer of 'Naam Ghoxa' and the founder of the music genre 'Borgeet'.
He was one of the most devoted followers of the socio-religious reformer of Assam, Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva, who converted to him to Ekasarana Dharma at the age of 32. Sankardev later appointed him as his successor and considered Madhabdev as the 'Prana Bandhaba' (friend of the soul).
Madhabdev's first literary creation was Janma Rahasya, which was about creation and destruction of the World. His other great creation was Bhati Rantavali. He also wrote the last two chapters of Sankardev's Kirtan Ghosa.
Other important works of Madhabdev include Naam Maalikaa, Guru Bhatima. Madhabdev died in 1596 at Bhela Sattra near Coochbehar.
