BCCI secretary inspects pitch in DDSA stadium in Dibrugarh

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia inspected DDSA pitch at DDSA stadium in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

DIBRUGARH: BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia inspected  DDSA pitch at  DDSA stadium in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.  Saikia was later felicitated by Dibrugarh District Sports Association (DDSA) at Dibrugarh Outdoor Stadium Complex by the office bearers of DDSA. Speaking to reporters, Devajit Saikia said, “The DDSA officials are constructing the pitch and the outfield of the stadium. Today, I have come here to inspect the pitch and the outfield and expressed gratitude that the office bearers of the DDSA are working in tandem. Already DDSA had hoisted Ranji Trophy and many other nationals tournament in the stadium and in comming years more national level matches will be held here.” “Outfield surface layer was changed and a total numbers of five wickets are constructed and new grasses will be grown for the beautification of the stadium. The whole work will be completed within three to four months. BCCI domestic cricket  season will be started from September onwards and we are hopeful that Dibrugarh will hoist more national cricket matches,” Saikia stated.  He said, “A new revolution of sports has been started in upper Assam after the infrastructure development of sports in Dibrugarh. I am very thrilled to see that apart from boys, girls are also playing in cricket in Dibrugarh. I am sure that in coming years, national level cricketer will produced from Dibrugarh.” DDSA president Niranjan Saikia,Working president Manash Jyoti Dutta, vice president Bhaskar Gogoi among others were present at the felicitation programme.
