French Open: Jannik Sinner beats Novak Djokovic to reach final

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets to reach the French Open final, where he'll face No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz.

PARIS: World number 1 Jannik Sinner beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the second semifinal and qualified for the final of the French Open on Friday night. He will face second seed Carlos Alcaraz in the title clash at Centre Court on Sunday.

In the second semifinal, the Italian beat 24-time Grand Slam winner vintage Djokovic 7-5, 6-4, 7-6(3) at Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Sinner became only the second Italian man to reach the final at Roland-Garros after Adriano Panatta, the 1976 champion.

Sinner is aiming for his fourth major title, Alcaraz his fifth. Agencies
