Jyothi Yarraji Wins Gold in Women's 100m Hurdles

Jyothi Yarraji clinches gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the National Federation Senior Athletics Competition 2025 in Kochi.

Kochi: Olympian Jyothi Yarraji bagged the gold medal in the women's 100m hurdles event at the National Federation Senior Athletics Competition 2025 in Kochi, Kerala, on Tuesday, according to Olympics.com.

Jyothi clocked 13.23s to finish at the top of the podium. Her impressive time was better than the Athletics Federation of India's (AFI) 2025 Asian Championships qualification mark of 13.26 seconds.

Pragyan Prasanti Sah finished in second place, followed by Nithya Ramraj in the third spot in the women's 100m hurdles with times of 13.40s and 13.42s, respectively.

In the men's pole vault event, Dev Meena secured gold by setting a new national record with a 5.35m effort. The continental mark for the event is 5.51m. He bettered his previous personal best and national mark of 5.32m, which he had achieved at the National Games 2025. M Gowtham (5.15m) and Reegan G (5.10m) clinched the silver and bronze medals in the pole vault, respectively.

Earlier on Monday, Sachin Yadav won the National Federation Senior Athletics Competition 2025, where he threw a javelin of 83.86m, which booked the first spot for him in the competition.

Competing at the Maharaja's College Stadium, Sachin's winning mark came in the fifth round. His final attempt of 83.67m would also have been enough to top the field. Yash Vir Singh took silver with a best of 80.85m, while Sahil Silwal bagged bronze with a 77.84m throw. Asian Games silver medallist Kishore Jena placed fourth with a 77.82m attempt.
