GUWAHATI: Itkhola Athletic Club of Silchar caused a stunning upset, defeating title contender Bud Cricket Club by 4 wickets in their final league match of the APCC Cricket tournament at the Judges Field here today. The win took them into the semi-finals. Hritwik Dhar was the standout performer, taking 4 wickets for 32 runs in his 8-over spell.
Invited to bat first, Bud Cricket Club was bowled out for 151 runs in 33.4 overs. Nipan Deka top-scored with 38 runs off 24 balls ( 4 fours and 2 sixes). Sibsankar Roy (25) and Diwiz Pathak (24) were also key contributors. Hritwik’s top performance with the ball destabilize the Bud Cricket Club’s batting lineup. Sadek Imran Choudhury (3-29) and Rahul Singh (2-24) also played crucial roles with the ball.
In reply, Itkhola AC chased down the target in 38.5 overs, losing 6 wickets. Roshan Topno led the chase with a solid half-century, scoring 53 runs off 90 balls, including 4 boundaries and a six. Abhishek Thakuri (32) and Ram Chandra Das (24) provided valuable support with the bat. Sibsankar Roy, Ayushman Malakar and Swarupam Purakayastha two too wickets each.
