Army Organizes Soccer Tournament in Arunachal

The Indian Army successfully organized a vibrant soccer tournament for men and women in Arunachal Pradesh, showcasing unity, sportsmanship, and athleticism.

Itanagar: In a vibrant display of athleticism, camaraderie, sportsmanship and spirit of unity, the football tournament for both men and women organized by the Indian Army at vibrant village Tuting in Upper Siang district, concluded successfully on Thursday.

The event took place under the esteemed patronage of the local MLA Alo Libang, an official release informed here on Friday.

The Army conducted the tournament to encourage sports and fitness among the local youths, which saw enthusiastic participation of tem men’s team and five women teams from the district and outside, who showcased their skills and sportsmanship.

Players displayed great zeal and competitive spirit, making the matches an exciting spectacle for the audience.

While the women’s final was won by Tuting Higher secondary school, the Nugong FC from Tuting lifted the men’s final trophy.

Addressing the gathering Libang emphasised on the importance of sports in fostering unity and resilience among the youth.

The locals also expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for conducting such sports activities especially for empowering and promoting women participation in sports like football for the first time and hoped that their initiative will go a long way in motivating the youths to nurture their sports skills, discipline and the importance of fitness in their life.
