Assam Mountaineering and Adventure Institute team to climb Mt Papsura

GUWAHATI: Assam Mountaineering and Adventure Institute (AMAI) is going to organize a climbing expedition to Mt Papsura (Alt- 6451mt) in Northern Himalaya (Himachal Pradesh).

This is the second occasions when a team from Assam Mountaineering and Adventure Institute will go for expedition to Himalaya. A team of 11 members, lead by first Everester from Assam, will take part in this expedition.

A Sherpa was also hired from Darjeeling who will assist the team during the expedition. The team, which was selected after one month training, will leave Guwahati on August 31.Tthe expedition was formally flagged off today by Pabitra Ram Khaund, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare. The flagged off function was also attended by Muztaba Piar, Deputy Director of Sports and Youth Welfare.
