GUWAHATI: Bongaigaon Cricket Coaching Centre won the Lower Assam Zone title of Assam Premier Club Championship at Barpeta today as they thrashed City Triranga by 33 runs in the final. Winning the toss, Bongaigaon CCC registered 202 in 40 overs losing 9 wickets with the help of Sandeep Paul’s 55 runs.Parthajit Baishya and Bishal Roy contributed 38 and 36 respectively. Hridip Deka took 4 wickets for 47.
In reply City Triranga were bundled out for 169 in 34.5 overs. Rajib Kalita scored 52 runs. Kon Urang (3/14) and Santanu Dhar (3/33) were most successful bowlers for the winning side.
Head Quarter Zone leg starts in Guwahati: Gauhati Town Club prevailed over Goalpara Cricket Academy by 4 wicket in the inaugural match of Head Quarter Zone leg at Judges’ Field. Brief Score: Goalpara CA 135/10 in 38 overs (Sambhav Jain 48, Bikesh Chetry 3/17, Deep Borah 3/29) lost to GTC 136/6 in 25.3 overs (Nayanjyoti deka 41, Amit Boro 33, Avijit Singha Roy 32, Mousam Rabha 3/38).
