Assam suffer fourth defeat in Vijay Hazare Cricket

GUWAHATI: Assam suffered fourth consecutive defeats in the Vijay Hazare Cricket and this time against Rajasthan at Ranchi today. Rajasthan won the tie by a huge margin of 142 runs.

Rode on two centuries from MN Singh (166 no) and M Lomror (101) Rajasthan, invited to bat first, scored 353-3 in 50 overs. Singh faced 132 balls to score unbeaten 166 and there were 11 boundaries and 8 sixes in his innings. Lomror took 110 balls to score 101 and he hit 8 boundaries and one six. The second wicket partnership between the two batsmen produced 208 runs.

Assam managed to score 193 losing all wickets. Riyan Parag played a good knock and scored a half century before he got out. He faced only 28 balls to score 51 with the help of 7 boundaries and one six. Captain Kunal Saikia contributed 45 from 46 balls and there were 4 boundaries and one six in his innings. Sarupam Purkayastha (29) and Sibsankar Roy (29) were the other major contributors.
