GUWAHATI: Powered by brilliant centuries from Vastav Basumatary and Vikash Kumar Yadav, Mangaldai Cricket Academy (MCA) thrashed Goalpara Cricket Academy by a massive 268-run in the 10th Sitaram Chhawchharia U-19 Cricket Tournament at the NFRSA Stadium, Maligaon, on Wednesday. After electing to bat first, Mangaldai posted a formidable total of 356 for 6 in their allotted 50 overs. Vastav played a commanding knock, remaining unbeaten on 139 off 142 balls, which included 15 fours and 3 sixes. He was ably supported by Vikash, who hammered 107 off just 88 balls, striking six boundaries and an equal number of sixes.Ryhan Saikia was the pick of the bowlers for Goalpara, claiming 3 wickets for 45 runs, though he found little support from the other end. In response, Goalpara Cricket Academy faltered under pressure and were bowled out for just 88 in 39.2 overs. Vastav contributed with the ball as well, taking two wickets alongside Subhangkar Sarma, who also bagged a brace.
