GUWAHATI: Dr T AO North East International NEC Gold Cup Soccer Championship will kick off in the city from February 19. LNIPE complex at Sonapur and SAI Sports complex at Paltanbazar would be the venues of the meet.
Altogether 11 teams, including three outfits from Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh along with eight North East States, will take part in the championship which would be conducted by the Dr T Ao Birth Centenary Celebration Committee.
The inaugural function of the meet will be held at the SAI Sports complex on February 19 and several current and former star players of the country are expected to grace the occasion.
