GUWAHATI: The Elite and Rhinoland Cricket Academy emerged victorious in their respective matches in the RP Barooah U-13 Inter School and Academy Cricket Tournament held at the Don Bosco School Ground today.
The Elite secured a 22-run win over TRDCCC (Tinsukia) in a closely contested encounter. Batting first, The Elite posted 166 for 8 in their allotted 30 overs. Naman Rathi top-scored with a solid 48, while Nikunj Nabhya Gogoi impressed with the ball for TRDCCC, taking 3 for 37.
In reply, TRDCCC fell short, managing 155 for 9 in 30 overs. Ayanjyoti Das and Golu Kumar both contributed 40 runs each, but their efforts weren’t enough. Tushnik Sarkar led The Elite’s bowling attack with a four-wicket haul (4/38), while Prince Kamti chipped in with 3 for 34.
In the day’s second match, Rhinoland Cricket Academy defeated Arunadoy Club by 7 wickets. Arunadoy were bowled out for 133 in 26.1 overs, with Junaid Hannan scoring 33. Maan Sing Newar starred with the ball, claiming 6 wickets for 34 runs, while Aditya Mahato supported well with figures of 3 for 16.
Rhinoland chased down the target in 26.4 overs, finishing at 134 for 7. Aditya Mahato anchored the innings with an unbeaten 58 to guide his team to victory.
