GUWAHATI: NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) will aim to extend their unbeaten streak to seven matches as they face Hyderabad FC in a high-stakes Indian Super League (ISL) encounter at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Wednesday. The match will kick-off at 7-30 PM.

The Highlanders began their impressive run with a memorable 5-2 comeback victory against Hyderabad FC in the reverse fixture. On that night, Juan Pedro Benali’s squad overturned a two-goal deficit with standout performances, including a brace from Guillermo Fernandez and a goal from Alaaeddine Ajaraie.

Currently sixth on the table with 25 points from 17 games, a win in this match would propel NEUFC to third place. With this being the team’s final home game in Guwahati for the season, head coach Juan Pedro Benali has called on fans to make the occasion unforgettable.

“We will give everything on the field. This is a crucial game for us. We need everyone to come to the stadium. When the fans are here, we fly. This is the moment we need our fans with us,” said Benali.

Local star Parthib Gogoi echoed the coach’s sentiments, emphasizing the team’s determination to secure all three points. “It doesn’t matter where we play, whether in Guwahati, Shillong, or away, we want to win. We want to have three points,” said Gogoi.

This will be NEUFC’s last game in Guwahati this season, as the team will shift its remaining home fixtures to Shillong. Fans in the city will hope to see their team close out their Guwahati campaign with another inspiring performance.
