ITF World Junior Ranking Tennis Championship concludes in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Kabir Hans of India lifted double crown winning boys U-18 singles and doubles titles in the ITF World Junior Ranking Tennis Championship which concluded at the All Assam Tennis Association Complex here today. In the boys U-18 singles Kabir defeated Karan Singh (IND) in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. Kabir earlier won the doubles title also. In the girls singles final 3rd seed Sanjana Srimalla of India lifted the crown by defeating 5th seed Reshma Maruari (IND) in a well contested final 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.

In a brief prize distribution ceremony Australian tennis coach Tod Clarke distributed the trophies in the presence of Tournament Director Ankush Dutta and other officials.

FINAL RESULTS:

BOYS UNDER 18 YEARS SINGLES: Kabir Hans (IND) def Karan Singh (IND). 6-0, 6-1. GIRLS U-18 YEARS SINGLES: Sanjana Srimalla (IND) def Reshma Maruari (IND). 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. BOYS U-18 YEARS DOUBLES:Kabir Hans (IND) / Dhruv Tangri (IND) def Sushant Dabas (IND) / Denim Yadav (IND). 7-5, 0-6,(10-6). GIRLS U-18 YEARS DOUBLES: Reshma Maruari (IND) / Suhita Maruari (IND) def Sarah Dev (IND) / Malikaa Marathe (IND). 6-1, 6-0.
