GUWAHATI: Nabajyoti Club (Choukhutty) registered a hard-fought 4-3 victory against North Kamrup Sporting Club (Nalbari) in the Capital Region Cluster match of the 70th Bordoloi Trophy at Chamata on Monday.
Mantu Talukdar was the star of the match, scoring all four goals for the winning side. Nabajyoti took an early lead in the 4th minute and extended their advantage in the 14th minute. However, North Kamrup Sporting Club responded strongly, equalizing within a minute through goals from Moon Ahmed (21st minute) and Deepjyoti Ahmed (22nd minute).
Mantu completed his hat-trick in the 35th minute, restoring Nabajyoti’s lead as they entered halftime with a 3-2 advantage. In the second half, Mantu found the net again in the 66th minute to widen the margin. Diganta Haloi pulled one back for North Kamrup Sporting Club just before the final whistle, but it wasn’t enough to deny Nabajyoti the win.
