GUWAHATI: Oil India Limited Football Club (OILFC) will face BTR, Kokrajhar in the final of the Dr T Ao Invitational Football Tournament at LNIPE centre, Tapesia on Saturday. Two sides entered in the final winning their last group league matches at the same venue today.
BTR and OILFC needed a draw to move into the title clash while ASEBSC, the other team who had a chance to move into the final, needed three points from their last group league match against OILFC.
ASEBSC played good soccer today but still failed to collect three points as the game ended 2-2 draw. Milan Basumatary put OILFC ahead in the 33rd minute and they went for the lemon break with a 1-0 lead. However ASEBSC returned the goal in the 49 minute through Jigyas Deka. OILFC again took the lead in the 69th minute and this time Tupu Brahma scored for Duliajan outfit. ASEBSC returned the goal within 5 minutes and it was Jigyas again who scored the goal. Although ASEBSC put huge pressure on the OILFC defence thereafter but didn’t able to get the much needed goal which could take them into the final
Meanwhile in the other game of the day BTR, Kokrajhar defeated LNIPE by 3-0.Guawmsar Goyary, Lwitu Basumatary and Situ Basumatary scored in the match.
