GUWAHATI: Assam Cricket Association (ACA) XI once again displayed good performance in their Exposure Tour in Sri Lanka today. The two-day time between ACA XI and Army SC came to an end as a draw but the batsmen, led by opener Parvez Aziz, performed well.
Chasing Army SC’s first innings total 299 ACA XI today scored 323-10 in their first innings. Parvez scored a century.
Both the opener- Parvez Aziz and Saurav Saha- gave a good start to Assam XI in the run chase and the due added 81 runs on the first wicket. Thereafter although Assam lost a wicket on regular interval Parvez stayed at the other end and played a patient knock of 124 runs. The batsmen took 161 balls to score those runs with the help of 19 boundaries and one six.
Opener Saurav Saha (37) and captain Amit Sinha (42) were the other major contributors in the team. Apart from trio Riyan Parag (25), Akhil Kalita (24) and Wasiqur Rahman (27) also put some runs on the board.
Earlier yesterday Army SC were bowled out at 299 runs in their first innings. Arup Das picked up 4-55.
