The 45th edition of All Assam Amateur Invitational Golf Championship concluded

DIGBOI: The 45th edition of All Assam Amateur Invitational Golf Championship concluded here at the historic British built air stripped Digboi Golf Links on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Rita Hazarika emerged as the lady Champion of the tourney while Dulal Kalowar, Biren Karmakar and Binod Gogoi were awarded in the professional champion catagory.

Beside the fifty prizes put across various catagories, there was also a special trophy (The Sentinel Trophy) dedicated in the memory of late Hari Prasad Rajkhewa, father of Shankar Rajkhewa, the Managing Director of the Sentinel Group.

Winner of the Sentinel Trophy for 2023 was conferred upon Lalit Verma. Earlier in 2017 too, the trophy was dediated to boost the golfers of the region by the fast growing premier media house of the region.

The persistent efforts of The Sentinel to this effect was also widely acknowledged having played a significant role in promoting the cause of golfing in the region.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Kishore Kumar Sarma, Head of Digboi Refinery, in presence of S K Das, CGM (Technical) IOC, Digboi Refinery, Tridiv Hazarika, President of Upper Assam Golf Association, Siddhartha Chaliha, Secretary of UAGA, C R Baruah, Joint Secretary of Organising Committee, Kamal Basumatary, Joint Secretary of Organising Committee and Dr Subha Deka, Treasurer, UAGA.

Nagesh Singh, who has been the IGU Executive Committee Member from North East India and the President of Association of Golf Club of Assam (AGCA), also attended the prize giving ceremony.
