Pyongyang, June 9: North Korea’s ceremonial head of state will attend the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in Russia on June 14, state media reported on Saturday. Kim Yong-nam’s visit would be the latest in a series of diplomatic overtures by the Pyongyang regime. “Kim Yong-nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, will soon visit Russia to attend the opening ceremony of the 2018 FIFA World Cup,” reported KCNA, without providing further details.
