Sachin Tendulkar to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award from BCCI

Sachin Tendulkar will receive the C K Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award from the BCCI for his record-breaking career, including his key role in India's 2011 World Cup win.

MUMBAI: Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is set to receive the prestigious C K Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at its annual gala, as per reports.

Tendulkar played 664 matches for India and holds many records, including the most runs in both Test and ODI cricket. He scored 15,921 runs in Test matches and 18,426 runs in ODIs.

He has a long cricket career and holds the record for most ODI matches (463) and most Test matches (200). He is also remembered for his important role in helping India win the 2011 World Cup, making him one of the greatest players in cricket.

Tendulkar’s career spanned more than two decades, beginning at the age of 16 when he debuted in a Test match against Pakistan in 1989. His presence on the field was captivating, and he became a cricketing icon, able to bring the nation to a standstill with each innings.

Tendulkar will be the 31st recipient of the award, which was incepted in 1994 to honor India’s first cricket captain, Col. C K Nayudu. Nayudu, who had a remarkable 47-year first-class career from 1916 to 1963, also contributed significantly to the administration of the game. Former cricketer Ravi Shastri, a 1983 World Cup winner, was the recipient of the award in 2023.
